Results

I had to go in to school to find out my results, which meant getting a train at 11 o'clock in the morning, as Ben was getting a train to my house, which stopped at Potters Bar (where the school is). So I timed it perfectly so after I had collected my results I would get the train that Ben was on. When I did this and sat down in front of Ben, his confusion was apparent, but not without comic understanding.

French (full-course) - A*
Food (short-course) - A

Food's not a real subject, and it's only half a GCSE, so I don't mind.

Roughly one year until I find out the rest of my GCSE results.

I'm already nervous.
I'm not.

Argh

Argh. I think I've lost the nice pen I won, well, got from the Su Doku Championships last year. It's quite nice and has "The Times" written on it, so if you find it or something similar of equal or greater value, please return it to me. Thanks.

Argh.

Holiday in Spain

It's about 1:30 am on Monday, so I'll refer to Sunday as 'yesterday', as that is what it is. Or was.

Yesterday, after having spent two weeks in Spain, it was time to come home. Got a flight from Barcelona airport (or so it was called, it wasn't really in Barcelona) to Luton which landed at about 4:15 pm, and we arrived home at about 5:40. However nice Spain was, it's always nice to come back to the nice cold, rainy island that is Great Britain.

As we had just returned to England we thought we'd have a nice English curry for dinner, and as the car broke just before we went to collect it, guess to had to walk across town to get it. Me. That's who.

I'll post some photos from the holiday soon.

I was hoping and expecting to find a brown letter, addressed by me, to me, containing my GCSE results for this year when I got home, but nothing. The school administration is so poor they couldn't handle mailing a simple letter. I suppose I could hold on hope (Guided By Voices reference) of receiving the letter, but I expect I'll have to wait until I go back to school, the Tuesday after tomorrow. I may phone up the school tomorrow though and ask about the status of the letter.

But I'll probably forget.

The Times National Su Doku Championships, 2006 Qualifier

You may remember how I qualified for the Times National Su Doku Championships last year. Well, it's back. Yesterday, I posted my qualification entry and if I'm one of the top 50 times in the 13 - 16 age group, I'll go on to do the finals in Cheltenham in October.

I don't know when I'll receive notification of whether or not I will have qualified, but a few weeks seems likely.

Holidays

I'm having a good time in this summer holiday, just lying around, watching some TV, that kind of thing.

I dyed my hair properly bright blonde just before the last day of term, and it was well received.

I'm going to Spain this Saturday for 2 weeks of sun, swimming and table-tennis. Unfortunately, I am away on the 24th of August which is results day. GCSE results are available for collection, or one could have given them a stamped envelope so they could mail the student their results. I should have done the latter, but never got round to it. What I have just done though is mailed them a stamped envelope inside a stamped envelope (of equal size, somehow) so hopefully they'll permit this, and will mail me my French full-course and Food short-course results.
